My Covid Advisory for the Breakthrough Cases

Breakthrough Infection includes those who become lab Positive even after completed Vaccination.

People who are fully vaccinated are now testing Covid positive. Is there something wrong with the Indian Vaccines we have received ?

Apparently NO.

The virus will mutate. Whenever the mutation is significant, the older vaccine will not be 100% effective. There will be break through infection, some hospitalisation. Some of them can even die. A new study (pic) shows that such infections are 8 times more among the unvaccinated than the vaccinated. Similarly, Vaccination reduces the number of Hospitalisation and Death by a whooping 2500%. A July study in UK also shows that these death among the vaccinated is 100% limited to the elderly with Comorbid conditions.

What to do when someone gets the infection even after full vaccination ?

If any near and dear one is found Covid positive even after vaccination, Don’t panic. It is definitely going to be milder than if he had not got the vaccination. Follow this advisory and contact your physician SOS.

If you are vaccinated, most likely you will remain asymptomatic. But you can transmit the infection to your family members. You must self isolate and self monitor for the following vitals at least twice a day regularly for 3 weeks. Symptoms from the delta mutant is sticking around for 3 weeks. The vital sign parameters are given below.

OXYGEN >94%

PULSE    <94/min

TEMP    <100°F

RESPIRATION <24/min

URINE: Adequate

look out for standard parameters

A 6 min walk test is the best method to put your breathing on stress and measure the response. We must rule out other causes of fever of the season like dengue etc. even if the Covid test is positive. It is preferable to go for an Oximeter check when the patient is deep asleep. because oxygen falls to lowest level at this hour.

here is a modification of my earlier advisory regarding drugs and precautions.

1️⃣ Start Drugs :

1. Tab IVERMECTIN 12mg :  Once Daily x 3 days

2. Cap DOXYCYLINE 100mg: Twice Daily x 5 days. ( One suitable antibiotic cover is needed.)

7. Vit D3 60000 iu: weekly x4 weeks

( These are safe drugs with minimal side effects)

8. Plenty of warm water.( your normal+ 2.5 ltr)

Usually Fever comes down on Day-5.
If not consult your doctor.

Steroid can be initiated under supervision of a Doctor only. Don’t Self medicate steroid.

2️⃣ Observe for these Symptoms:

1. FEVER & BODY PAINS
2. Cold, Cough and Breathlessness
3. Diarrhoea
4. Loss of Smell & Taste ( no more prominent.)
5. Red Eye
6. Rash over hands and legs.

3️⃣ Continue to Observe Vital Signs

.. Continue your regular medication for DM, BP.

• Obesity
• Old age (65+ )
• 55+ with medical conditions
• Front line workers in frequent public contact

1. BREATHING Exercises – Good
2. MEDITATION – Good
3. STEAM Inhalation – ok
4. “6 min” WALKING
   ( should not have breathing difficulty after 6 min walk)
5. MOUTH Gargling 
6. SLEEP ON YOUR BELLY for half an hour every day( Prone position)

General Complaints:

1. Acidity: Pantoprazole 40mg BF
2. Body pains & Fever : PCM 650mg : AF
3. Cough: Cough Syp, Allegra
4. Vomiting: Ondem 4mg : BF

Covid Prevention Medication.: (Provisional)

Ivermectin 18mg on:

• 1st dose on Day- 1,
• 2nd dose on Day- 3 or7
• Repeat on Day- 30
• MONTHLY till Pandemic is over

With the vaccination, sooner or later, markets and public places will open up. Schools and offices, Prayer halls will open. Restrictions of movement will be reduced. It is obvious that there will be a flare up of infection.
