Covid-19: facts versus fiction.

Achieving a Zero Case number in Covid-19 is a fiction. It’s not at all a realistic target. The sooner we understand this, the better.

We have hundred other deadly diseases: Tuberculosis, Dengue, or even Influenza. We never display their number cards in the prime time TV and let public imaginations run riot with fears and paranoia.  We only count the numbers of Deaths, severely ill cases like those in ICU. Case numbers should be moved from public domain to the realm of of Epidemiologist.

That is exactly what Singapore is doing now.

Vaccinating 100% of our millions is a fiction.

We must vaccinate all to produce enough herd immunity. That is the only way to eradicate Covid-19 is another fiction.

Yes, we have achieved astounding success in eradicating Small Pox, Polio and even Measles to some extent by universal vaccination program.

Covid-19 is different. As we would increase vaccination number, the virus will develop variants that can escape our vaccine immunity. We have been using Flu vaccine for 80 years now. Yet we are not able to stop this seasonal virus. So it will be with Covid-19.

Two India: The vaccinated and the vaccine deprived- Fact.

But more humiliating is the west sponsored Two world: 

A world divided into counties who are vaccinated by vaccines from the big U countries and people receiving vaccines in the Non-U countries. 

( My personal take)

I have bracketed the US, UK, EU under the Big U basket. It is surprising that Astra Zeneca vaccines manufactured in UK only gets the Green Pass. Green pass is the Digital Vaccine certificate that is mandatory to enter EU nations.

Covishield of Pune does not qualify for the Green pass. This is the new Divide. As long as we shall be blindly following the CDC and West for our medical recommendations this disparity will remain.

 Why can’t our AIIMS out-rule CDC of US or EMA of EU ?

Masks and Zoning will be the new norm– Fact.

Inside one locality we will have zones that obey covid appropriate behaviour and maximum vaccination numbers. For example, our railway office premises and Colonies. We are conducting a Covid Testing Camp among our office goers for the last 4 days. The figures are astounding. As on date, result of 414 consecutive samples have reached me. Total positive is 02. That is a case positive ratio of 0.5%. Much above any nation standard. They should be zoned Green. Next to us will be our infamous Salia Sahi. Just the opposite. It is Red. We can have small gatherings with the Green Norm. But we can not avoid Red zones for so many things; our grocery, vegetables supply, education and commerce etc. 

From the target of Zero Covid case we should move  on to the Zone concept.

The sooner, the better for our Economy, Education.
