Covishield Mechanism Explained

A Gene modified Non-replicating Adenovirus
( GM-AD)

The pic on top left panel shows:

  • Circular SARS COV-2 virus on left
  • Hexagonal Adeno Virus ( Rt)

In the Lab, Part of the gene of an Adeno virus that it requires for replication is removed. A Piece of Gene of the SARS virus coding for Spike protein is placed in its place. A Genetically Modified Adenovirus which cannot replicate ( GM-AD) is created in lab.

5×10^10 such Genetically modified Adenovirus is packed into one vaccine dose.

A Vaccinated arm Muscle Cell ( Top right)

After the dose is injected into our left arm, the GM-AD enters our muscle cell or any cell nearby. It deposits the virus code inside the nucleus of our cell. The Cell gets Vaccinated.

Our Police picks up such spike labelled cell. ( Bottom left)

The vaccinated cell now manufactures viral spike. This is identified and taken up by our immune processing cell ( Dendritic Cell)

It updates our defence Lymph cells.

B cells pour out antibodies against the spike
T cells change to Killer K– cell and are ready to kill anyone holding a spike.

When a fresh army of viruses enter, our Police system is battle ready to tackle them.
