WORLD numbers of New Cases are CONSISTENTLY FALLING in SEPTEMBER 2021

Countries worldwide adopting one of the two strategies to tackle the pandemic.

Zero Covid Strategy:

Australia, New Zealand and China have adopted strict lock down to achieve Zero Covid target. China has been maintaining zero covid for more than a year, when it had a break through which was immediately contained. But the virus has broke out in its south east states and the nation has used harsh measures.

Australia has only 1000 cases for one year, but now has declared to move away from Zero Covid to 70%+ vaccination strategy. Only time will tell.

High Vaccination Strategy:

UK, Israel, Portugal, Singapore, Denmark have opened up after achieving 70%+ vaccine penetration. Cases that spiked initially but now has settled down to a pretty high base line. Delta variant was detected in UK in June. The case numbers climbed from 2500 in last may to 50,000 in July. Now it is back down to 32,000. Such a large number of daily new cases will overload the Health Care System. What will happen to all those non Covid cases. There won’t be beds left for heart stroke cases and other medical emergencies.

Ian Mackey: EACH SLICE OF INTERVENTION ADDS TO YOUR PROTECTION
  • A Respiratory Pandemic needs several layers of protection.
  • We must realise that “No single intervention gives us 100% protection.”
  • Neither Vaccination Nor Quarantine alone can do miracles.
  • But each added slice of intervention adds to our protection.
