Overcoming a Pandemic

Overcoming a Pandemic is always a Social one.

   An outbreak only really ends when life begins to feel normal again. The most vulnerable members of our community feels safe to walk out.

Diseases like Typhoid, Cholera, AIDS have run epidemics once in the past but are now under control, how ?

History teaches us that each of these diseases once had created deadly epidemics. But the largest drops in deaths in each case has always occurred long before introduction of any wonder drug.
Cholera, Typhoid is controlled by water and food hygiene.
AIDS is controlled by safe syringe, safe sex and behaviour modification not by any drug.
Because each time we develop a drug, the next moment the germ comes out with a drug resistant clone. It has always been a cat and mice game.

Every epidemic is controlled by few Non drug preventive measures.

There may not be any effective drug for the Cold-19 in the near future. We are reading about Covid-19 our medical text books as it is getting written and edited.

But few non drug interventions will be able to end this pandemic before any definite drug is invented.

• Masked Nose
• Sanitised Hands

So will be it this time.
