The virus will mutate. Whenever the mutation is significant, the older vaccine may not be 100% effective.
[ The seven-day average of daily coronavirus cases in the US surpassed the peak seen last summer when the nation didn’t have a vaccine. Today, 70% US adults have at least one shot of Pfizer vaccine. But there is a difference. The 7 day average daily death has also increased but it is less than quarter than last summer. ]
The chance of transmitting infection to others is also reduced.
For example, vaccination definitely reduces our chance of getting the infection by some 50%. As a vaccinated individual, you can get the infection 5 times if you are exposed 10 times. It may not be what you had expected after two jabs, but in the society the attack rate will be reduced by 50%. The movement of virus will be slowed down to half.
