Mahabharat Returns

Birth outside marriage – a 2016 UNFP data.

Today more kids are born outside marriage.

In 2016 in France, only 40% kids had regular parents. 60% are born outside marriage.
For Sweden and Denmark, the countries with the highest quality of life, it is 55%.
For US, UK and EU- 45-50%.

The study also revealed few new trends like:
1. Consensus:
These births are predominantly to unmarried couples ( live-in ) living together willingly rather than to single mothers by circumstances beyond control.

2. Futuristic:
Marriage rate has fallen in the U.S. and those who do tie the knot do so later in life.
So the live-in partners are having children before getting married.

3. Convenience:
Delaying motherhood is a rational decision when you consider the impact it can have on your career. Births outside of marriage is closely correlated to delays in childbearing.

Yes the trend is here to stay till we have more KUNTHIs.
We will have more unwed mothers and kids of indeterminate fathers in future as the story of Mahabharat describes.
