Summary of the Travel advisory international travellers published by Government of India on 20th October in brief follows:
A. Before Travel:
Negative RT-PCR report within 72 hrs prior to travel
B. On arrival:
- Fully vaccinated–
Self monitor for 14 days
- No/ partial Vaccination-
- Testing
- Home quarantine 7 days
- Re testing on 8th day – Negative
- Self monitor for next 7 days.
Fully vaccinated status starts after 15 days of completion of vaccination.
- All high risk contacts:
- Quarantine for 14 days.
C. Testing protocol:
GOI, MOHFW updates its testing protocol from time to time. But the thumb rule is given below.
- All symptomatic ILI ( Influenza Like) patients.
- Asymptomatic High risk Contacts in community ( >D5)
D. Contact:
The people who are exposed to a Lab positive case are called Contacts.
- Contacts are two type.
- 1. High Risk Contact-
- Anyone in close proximity ( < 1 meter) of a positive case without precautions ( Mask etc.., sanitiser) for a significant time ( 30 min).
- 2. Low Risk Contact-
- Shared the same space but without high risk exposure.
