Which jobs will vanish in the near future ?

Robots can accomplish any  single task job more efficiently than the fastest human. No wonder these jobs will vanish. Only the jobs that involve a bit of humanity or relationship will remain. They cannot be occupied by robots.

Our Railway employees are amazing on the weekends.

Your inefficient steno-babu becomes an amazing architect. Right now he is supervising the casting of a slab of the colony Shiv temple. It’s tricky and he is standing there for 8 hours at a stretch.
Your good for nothing draughtsman is a doctor today. He is prescribing a combination of homeopathy, ayurvedic with fine tuning of someone’s BP medicine.
Your always late SO madam transforms into a brilliant designer. And your often dozing JE planning has woken up at 4:30 am today and right now leading 50 people in Yoga at the colony park.
Even your ever complaining peon is busy. He is the local head of a spiritual center and right now busy in conflict resolution. You see, conflicts are the staple for a center like that.

The energy and vitality that they bring to their weekends is amazing. But this vanishes on weekdays. The same energetic leader becomes a meek stenographer on Monday.
If at all we can bring his Sundays to our office. Can we add a bit of creativity and ownership to their job description.

5 years..
All of them become expert in one thing- giving smart explanations for the delayed targets and why they have no energy to take up any new assignment.

15 years..
Most of them will lose their creativity, get bored with their daily job. Some of the creative juice will be channeled into Union activity making your job difficult. The meek one will become home tuition masters. And the weak ones- their blocked creative juices will bleed into their brain and heart causing chronic back pains etc. They will be a burden on Railways and on their family as well.

No wonder, these desk jobs of cashier, driver, bill clerk, steno are going to be taken over by robots and Artificial Intelligence. The jobs that are slow poisons.

90% of the farm hand jobs in US were automatised between 1870 to 1970. But it took only 60 years between 1950 and 2010 to annihilate equal number of jobs on the floor of US factories due to automation.

Jobs are basically two types. The human and robotic. Taxi driver, book keeper, insurance clerk jobs are single task jobs. They are monotonous and do not need any creativity and hence boring.

Robots can accomplish any  single task job more efficiently than the fastest human. No wonder these jobs will vanish. Only the jobs that involve a bit of humanity or relationship will remain. They cannot be occupied by robots.

It’s time we catalog them.
